This film features a tour of the landscape, some memorials and museums in the Ardennes where, in 1944, the Germans attacked the Allies, in Hitler’s final attempt to divide the armies of the British and Americans and capture Antwerp.
This battle has become known as the Battle of the Bulge. US, UK, Canadian, Belgian, Luxembourg and French Resistance forces took part in this battle in freezing conditions in December 1944. The battle began on 16th December and ended in mid-January 1945.
During this period, the Germans advanced through Belgian territory until pushed back by Allied troops. The footage records visit to some individual museums, memorials and includes commentary and conversation.
